Observational Research

2026
As part of my research practice, I had the immense privilege of observing the educational programs of the Lewis Latimer House Museum first hand and present my findings on placed based learning and collaboration in a roundtable hosted by Pratt‘s Art and Design Education Department.

During this research, I was able to observe how the Lewis Latimer House museum applies place based learning principles through collaborative practices. Through the establishment of these collaborative practices between all of its stakeholders, the museum’s educational programs are able to foster interdisciplinary, enriching, and community rooted learning ecosystems that consistently position learning as situated rather than abstract, relational rather than authoritative, and active rather than consumptive.
